This post is about an old version of the inventory tracker.

Hello everyone!
In the latest poll, several votes were for tracking inventory quantities. I’m really happy that there is some interest in new functionalities!
Stock quantities change quite often; basically, whenever anyone purchases something from the store. So it would be impractical to send notifications about every change.
Instead, inventory levels for every available (or recently available) item are collected on one page that is updated regularly.

The inventory tracker lists all available products with current stock quantity and a 7-day history of stock levels.
Please not that history is currently incomplete, as we just started collecting the data. As we get more data, stock history will be most likely extended to cover more than a week.
I hope that as more data becomes available, we will gain more insights into the dynamics of sales and restocks at an item-level granularity. These insights will be useful for future predictions and hopefully help you with purchasing decisions.
Maybe in the future, some events related to stock levels will be worthy of their own notifications. For example, faster than usual pace of stock depletion. Some information will be soon added to regular notifications, starting with informing you about stock quantity whenever we get a restock or new release.
On a day-to-day basis, the tracker can assist with spotting items that are available in low or extremely low quantities or, conversely, in great abundance. This should also help make you more informed decisions about purchases, not driven by guesses but by facts.
Developer note
It’s not a marvel of web UX, but I’m no front-end dev, so it is what it is for now. If you’re a Jinja2/CSS/JS ninja and want to contribute, I’ll be very grateful.
